Healthy choices, healthy balance and healthy meals
Healthy meals are the foundation of growth, early child development and education.
-
Healthy meals and good nutrition are essential to healthy brain development in children which is, of course, critical to learning.
Children who exercise regularly and eat healthily are likely to:
- perform better academically
- feel better about themselves, their bodies, and their abilities
- cope with stress and regulate their emotions better
- avoid feelings of low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
Establishing healthy eating and exercise habits early in life can lead to long term healthy behavior in adulthood.
We provide your child with opportunities to enjoy healthful foods that promote growth and allow them to learn food preferences and dietary habits that help them live a healthy lifestyle so they are ready for early child development and learning. We know that fast food actually slows a child’s learning development – and that nutritious food supports learning and overall health. Our daily menus ensure your child receives fresh, balanced, nutritious and healthy meals every day.
A child-friendly, multi-cultural menu is served in a sit-down family meal setting.
We consciously adhere to Canada’s Daily Food Guide so your child gets all of the nutrients they need to be their best throughout the day. -
We eat because our bodies need food, and we eat meals together so we can spend time together. Mealtimes are also a time for children to learn new skills.
We prepare mouth watering hot lunches and healthy morning and afternoon snacks.
Meals at our centre are served “family style” in class groups. Our teachers sit and eat with the children, modelling table manners and healthy eating habits.
